How do I decide which tour? Basic tour terms!
Tours come in all shapes and sizes from private, small group tours to large group tours.
Pick the type of tour you want: small group, private, large group.
Do you want to ride a van or bus to get to the various sightseeing locations or do you want a walking tour?
A walking tour may actually have less walking than a shuttle tour, depending on the route of the tour and its duration. Driving tours will take you to locations that are too far to comfortably walk so you have the ability to see a larger portion of the area.
The length of the tour. How much time do you want to invest in seeing and experiencing the sights? A shorter tour will focus on giving you the core information you need to have the best experience at the most popular locations and attractions, while longer tours will show you more, offer more hidden gems and off the beaten path experiences and information.
What is included in the tour price? Which attractions does the tour include?
If you are in a large group tour it is likely the tour will move slower and there will be less personal interaction than in a small group tour. Small groups move faster, there is more 1:1 interaction with the guide and the tour becomes less presentation of material and more interactive conversation. Think about it like a classroom versus working with a tutor. Both enhance your experience in different ways.
